This wine is a customer favourite here at M&M, and often referred to as the younger cousin of the big and bold Brunello Di Montalcino. With more relaxed wine making rules than Brunello, it’s a younger, fresher style of Sangiovese and excellent bang for buck.
It’s made using 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in clay soils on southwest facing slopes, just outside the hilltop town of Montalcino in Tuscany. Fresh red cherries, violets and a touch of Mediterranean herbs on the nose lead to a fresh and vibrant palate full of red fruits, silky tannins and a subtle spice on the finish from time spent in oak.
Try with any tomato based pasta dishes or, to go even more traditional, with Ribollita - a typical hearty Tuscan soup.
