Aussie Chardonnay and natural wine… we can imagine some of you have already written this one off, however we think this a brilliant gateway for anyone wanting to explore the natural wine scene.
Natural wine, broadly speaking, is a movement towards producing wine with low/no interventions from us humans. Now with that being said, it is still vital that winemakers produce high quality wine. We suppose the true definition of what this is will always depend on who you’re asking!
The Chardonnay grapes in this wine are hand harvested from a single vineyard block within the Onkapringa Valley in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.
It’s such an interesting wine - you have great balance between fresh green apple and citrus. Yet it also sees 6 months in old French oak. This doesn’t dominate the flavour, in fact it enhances the toasty, vanilla profile which adds so much.
